Parag, nice picture and great post.. kille raigad that is so grand..i think you should edit the pic in photoshop to keep the orage colour of the bhagwa behind the statue.. mahit nahi ka pan kille raigad sound better and greater than just raigad..

BTW, have you checked out Picasa photo s/w from Google? It's decent considering it's a free download. I liked their collage and screensaver utilities. It has a good interface too.

What do you mean, I still have this picture. I took this photo in January during our India trip. You probably remember another view of this same statue that I have as a big poster print. I still have that too. It is hanging in our library.
I have been using Picasa for a couple of months now. It is great to organise photos. Much better than windows file manager. I don't use its editing tools, though. I like to use Gimp or Photoshop for that.

Great picture !! Recently we were on Kille Panhalgad, where we saw an awesome sculpture of Baji Prabhu Deshpande. I am sending you that picture in a separate mail. The light was insufficient, so the quality is not all that great, but the force and agreesion that sculpture exuded was immense !! It recreated the history for all of us that day !!

Just yesterday I heard some not so good comments from a collegue of mine about Shivaji Maharaj. I was very hurt. I did confront him and then totally ignored him...but not before suggesting him to try and make these comments in Kolhapur.:) I am sure he will get his history knowledge straightened up out there! :)
I felt so good after coming across this site today! The picture is beautiful and has captured the great king of Marathas perfectly!!!
