Pet peeve #3

People that keep their home thermostats set at 75-80F. All that dry heat is so bad for health. It dries up your eyes, skin and breathing passages causing nose bleeds and scratchy throat. Any setting above 68F makes me very uncomfortable. When it is winter-time, people should dress appropraitely for it and not prance around in shorts and T-shirts with thermostat set so high.

We used to have this fight at home; me bringing the thermostat setting down and V increasing it. But, now with Ashwini, who is like me in terms of temperature preferance (and in many other ways), we have a majority. :)

For every degree over 68%, there is a tremndous reduction in savings on your monthly bill. We usually set it at 66/67 and wear sweats at home. Jus tperfect....nice and warm and a decent, affordable gas bill:-)

When the air gets too dry...I keep a large surface area container(our traditional 'paraat') filled with water. It does its but to increase the humidity in my apartment.

As for me, if it gets too dry I just shut off the AC vent in my room and slightly open the window...works good. ;-)
