Angry or Calm?

Another wonderful optical illusion.

If you watch the above images from your seat in front of the computer, Mr.Angry is on the left, and Mrs.Calm is on the right.

Get up from your seat, and move back 12 feet, and PRESTO! They switch places!

This illusion was created by Phillippe G. Schyns and Aude Oliva of the Univ. of Glasgow.

This proves that we may not be seeing what's actually there, all the time!

That was good. How does it work?

Are these some kind of interlaced images?? Cos try this: block one picture and focus on the other one only. you dont have to go away from your screen. Then while looking at it, blink your eyes as fast as you can and you will see the other expression. Its got something to do with speed (just like the difference between an interlaced-CRT image, and a DLP/LCD image and pixelization.
