		<description>i think its neither of the two - its just that there is a boatload of talented players coming in from all parts of india - there isnt really a single geographical region thatn you can single out. although i am inclined to say that &#039;northern states&#039; are now dominating! 

south - dravid, laxman, kumble, rao, balaji (5)
north - h singh, sehwag, yuvaraj, nehra, dhoni, raina, yadav,kaif (8)
west - khan, pathan(?) (2)
east - ganguly (now that i would call politics :)!) (1?)

mumbai has been doing very well in the ranji trophy ... and that too its been only on the basis of bowling success, and superb tailend batsmen who make up for failures at thetop. yet, it should be noted that mumbai are not ranji champions, lost to punjab last year in a pathetic low scoring semifinal.
