House for Sale

May 30th, 2007

Interesting description for this house in the ad.

Want space, amenity, comfort, and safety for the kids? How about around 4000 square feet of living space with 5 bedrooms, 4 1/2 bathrooms (7 sinks, 5 toilets, 5 showers, 3 tubs, 2 Jacuzzis and 1 Bidet) on almost 1 acre of land in a Cul-de-sac? 6-zone oil heat, 2-zone central air, full wall fireplace, 2-car garage, and an 800-square-foot deck!

Want your kids to go to the Ivies? This house sent its three to Harvard, Yale, and Princeton.

The best education from the town with the lowest tax, XXXXXXX, CT. Want a bargain? This contemporary colonial is yours for $595,000.

Owner must be a firm believer in feng shui.

Yahoo! Mail

May 30th, 2007

Yahoo! Mail now provides unlimited storage for no cost.

I only hope they continue to support the classic view and not upgrade everyone to the new version that looks like Outlook and Hotmail. I like Yahoo! Mail classic for its simplicity and don’t want all the other fancy crap and ads.

Coinstar

May 21st, 2007

Decided to cash in a big coin jar that sat on the kitchen table. I didn’t like using coinstar because they charged counting fees (8.9c per dollar). They still charge the same fee, but if you decide to take a “Amazon.com” gift certificate instead of cash, there is no counting fee. Now, that is a good deal. Here is what the receipt said:

Coin Number counted
Dollars 7
Half-Dollars 1
Quarters 202
Dimes 868
Nickels 339
Pennies 1196

For all the coins that we collected during our 5 years in Michigan, the total came out to be $173.71. Good enough amount to apply towards buying a camera lens from Amazon.com.

dooce quote

May 17th, 2007

Couldn’t agree more with what Heather of dooce said…

Before we woke up from the dream called “Childless Marriage” where we moaned and whined because we only got 8 hours of sleep and could go anywhere and do anything any time we wanted and eat at restaurants and see movies in theaters more than twice a year.

Not a firing offense

May 15th, 2007

The White House acknowledged on Tuesday that World Bank president Paul Wolfowitz erred in the handling of a pay raise and promotion for his companion but said that was not cause for him to be removed from his job.

Of course, it is not a firing offense. This is the same guy who didn’t get fired for making the Al-Queda and Iraq connection to help start the whole warmongering. Nepotism is nothing compared that. If nepotism and favoritism were not allowed, then Mike Brown wouldn’t have been the chief of FEMA or Roberto Gonzales wouldn’t be the Attorney General right now. It is also alright to fire a U.S. attorney for no reason other than to give that job to Carl Rove’s protege. In this administration not just nepotism but shooting your friend in the face with a shotgun is also acceptable.
