Ol’ turkey buzzard
June 10th, 2008
As we got out of the house this morning, we spotted this huge turkey vulture sitting on our neighbor’s roof. Its wingspan must have been about 5 to 6 feet. Adit and Ashwini were thrilled to see it at such a close distance. It wasn’t phased by all the noise we were making and just sat there warming its back and wings. It flew away after I brought my camera from inside and took a few photos.

Coool…I saw one when in Austin, see my blog! It was right in the middle of the road and I saw it swoop down for dinner. Amazing sight!! Ashwini must have remembered ‘Old Turkey Buzzard’
Awesome!
Hope you can capture some closer shots.
BTW, what happened to the Paraphotoblog?
I remember some nice pictures on it way back… 2004/05 maybe?
Prashant: I didn’t see that bird again in our neighbourhood.
My ‘phlog’ died when I switched from Movable Type to WP for content management. It is annoying that you have to have separate installations for each blog with WP. I’ll revive it when there is a simpler option and some time available. All those photos are in my Flickr album that you already have seen.
A turkey bezzard came to visit us a few days ago. I got some good photos and am wondering how it got to our area of Colorado. I do remember as a child seeing chicken hawks. Iis it possible turkey buzzards are the same thing?
